Alinghi crew will race on Neville Crichton’s 100ft super-maxi Alfa Romeo in the Barcolana Race, on Sunday 12th October. With over 1900 boats, big and small, at the starting line, the 40th edition of Barcolana, organised by the Società Velica di Barcola e Grignano, will follow the same regulations as every year with the same course off Trieste, Italy: a quadrilateral of about 16 miles with a mark in Slovene waters.
Alfa Romeo has won this event four times: in 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007.
Following tradition, the prize giving will take place one month after the regatta.
Check Alinghi.com for results on Monday 13 October.
