Sailing Part of ‘Affluent Individual’ Ad Network

While you might think that some of the world’s big spenders have had their wings clipped a bit by events in financial markets – it seems that there are still affluent individuals that brands want to target.

Martini Media Network, a media network targeting at affluent individuals, has announced that it has raised financing from Venrock and added Brian Ascher and David Siminoff to its board of directors. The company, which enables premier brand advertisers to target upscale consumers, will use the funds to drive product development, sales and marketing efforts.

“Even in this tough economic climate, premier brands are moving an increasing percentage of their marketing mix online because it works, it’s where the audience is and it’s good bang for the buck,” said Brian Ascher, general partner at Venrock. “Martini Media delivers highly targeted access to the affluent consumer in contexts that yield strong positive brand associations.”

The network has 70 publishers that reaches affluent individuals through their leisure pursuits, targeting them at the heart of their interests.

“Vertical advertising networks have already proven to be the wave of the future, yet until now there were no networks built to address the market for premier goods and services in a 360 degree integrated fashion,” said Skip Brand, CEO of Martini Media.

MartiniLife.com, (will be – when launched), the company’s flagship site, focusses on golf, equestrian sports, wine, flying, classic cars, cigars and sailing.
