Like Watching Paint Dry? London Boat Show Build Live!

We’re all for new technology being used to bring sailing to the world via multimedia. Using Google Earth to track the Sydney Hobart Race or calling a Vendee Globe competitor is one thing, watching the London Boat Show being built is another, but you can now watch the London International Boat Show being built in real time at www.londonboatshow.com and see what it takes to get the massive ExCeL building ready.

There are four webcams to stream live feeds placed strategically throughout ExCeL. The webcams cover both the North and South Halls of the 1.6km long ExCeL building, and a fifth camera, situated outside on the Royal Victoria Dock goes live on 5 January 2009 ahead of the opening on the 9 January 2009.

Andrew Williams, Managing Director of NBS, comments:

‘We’ve had webcams charting the progress of both Southampton and London before and they have proved to a big hit on the websites. It’s quite interesting to see how the Show is built up and how ExCeL is transformed from a blank canvas to what the visitors see between 9 and 18 January.’
