Rod Carr to Retire from RYA in 2010

Rod Carr, will retire from the RYA in March 2010, after 10 years as the CEO of the organisation. Carr was highly involved in Britain’s recent Olympic sailing success, having been at the RYA for 25 years.

SolOceans Will Be Postponed Until 2011.
The SolOceans Race, billed as ‘the first round-the-world single handed one design monohull race’ has been postponed for another two years.
The statement on the official website puts the blame at the feet of the world economic crisis. The new start date will be 23 October 2011.
