Crewsaver has officially announced its Patronage of Exercise TRANSGLOBE, the Tri-Service adventurous sail training exercise that sets off from Portsmouth on 11th July. The TRANSGLOBE Project Team, led by Sqn Ldr Neil Cottrell, is delighted that this famous brand joins with GILL, the highly valued Technical Clothing partner that was announced in January, as Patrons.
Martin Jerrett, Crewsaver’s General Manager and Oana Matty, Marketing Manager, delivered the signed sponsorship agreement to the home of the Challenge boats, JSASTC (Joint Services Association Sail Training Centre) in Gosport. Sqn Ldr Cottrell and Petty Officer Andy Scott took the opportunity to show the new partners around HMSTV DISCOVERER, one of the three Challenge 67ft yachts that will be circling the globe during a gruelling 12-month schedule comprising 13 separate stages.
The 550 personnel participating in Exercise TRANSGLOBE will be supplied with the MOD standard issue Crewfit 275N lifejacket which is manufactured by Crewsaver at their factory in Mumby Road, Gosport, in Hampshire.
As they face the enormous challenges of ocean sailing, the safety and comfort of the mixed gender crews and ranks representing the Navy, Army and Airforce, is the paramount concern for the Project Team back in Gosport.
Sqn Ldr Cottrell commented,
“We believe that we have secured the best technical clothing possible through our much valued partnership with GILL and now, with the exceptional commercial support of Crewsaver, their patronage really helps to underpin the success of this major expedition.”
