Star Class Appoints World Regattas For Marketing and PR

The International Star Class Yacht Racing Association has named World Regattas as its marketing and PR consultant.

Lynn Fitzpatrick, President of World Regattas, has provided marketing assistance and coverage of Star class championship regattas including; recent world championships, the Olympics, Bacardi Cups and other North American and European regattas for the past two years.

She said:

“I am pleased that we have formalized this relationship. We are setting the stage for significant milestones in the development and direction of the class. Fleet building, celebrating the Star’s 100th Anniversary in 2011, the Olympics and sponsorship are all on the agenda.”

Star Class President, Bill Allen added:

“The Star class has over 200 annual regattas, and we have a particularly busy stretch coming up. We are excited to have World Regattas on board to help us publicize all of the upcoming activity and organize for the future.”

Claude Bonanni, Class Vice President stated:

“The Star class has more assets than any other one-design class, and our goal is to strengthen them leading up to the 100th Anniversary celebration in 2011 and keep them going strong into our second century as a leader in one-design sailing throughout the world.”

World Regattas raises the awareness of sailing and sailors by promoting events and individuals and working with organizations. The company is dedicated to moving coverage beyond traditional sailing marketing and media platforms and into mainstream media. World Regattas has worked with US Olympic and Paralympic athletes, yacht designers, builders, classes, commercial real estate developers and government organizations.
