Fabulous to hear. Can you imagine witnessing that fantastic level of support and emotion in the UK to recognise sporting achievement, other than perhaps for footballers? The closest the sailing fraternity and its supporters came was when Ellen came home after coming 2nd in the Vendée Globe 2000/1 and the welcome in Les Sables then was from 200,000 + people (including a lot of English supporters I'm sure); then she sailed up the Solent to Southampton amongst a sizeable armada of vessels and was quite rightly honoured for her sailing achievements.
