QANTAS and Austereo Partner with Perth 2011 World Championships

As the World Travel Market hosts the who’s who of tourism in London, the Perth 2011 ISAF World Sailing Championships have announced that Qantas will be the Official Airline Partner for the regatta.

The airline ‘will assist Perth 2011 in transporting teams and officials to Western Australia and will promote Perth 2011 domestically and internationally’.

Perth 2011 Director of Commercial Operations, Darren Beazley, said:

“We are delighted to have an iconic brand like Qantas join the Perth 2011 sponsorship family. Qantas is widely regarded as the world’s leading long distance airline and one of the strongest brands in Australia. In an event where more than 5000 athletes and officials will travel to Australia from overseas, an alignment with Qantas was an obvious partnership. Securing Qantas as a silver level sponsor is an enormous vote of confidence in the World Championships by the commercial sector and we hope to maintain this momentum in securing more commercial supporters as we lead into the Perth International Regatta.”

Qantas Regional General Manager for Western Australia and the Northern Territory, Ian Gay, said:

“Qantas believes the Perth 2011 ISAF World Championships will be a great event for Perth and for Western Australia. We are delighted to be involved and working closely with the team at Perth 2011. Not only will Western Australians be able to enjoy the party in Fremantle, but all the competitors, family and friends will have a good reason to visit Western Australia and see all we have to offer. The dream begins in Perth, the journey begins with Qantas.”

Austereo Perth and Perth2011 have confirmed a deal that will see wide coverage of the Olympic class sailing regatta on FM stations 92.9 and 94.5.  Together, the two stations cover seventy per cent of the Western Australian radio market.

The deal will include promotions, news about the top competing sailors and live broadcasts from the Fishing Boat Harbour at Fremantle.

Darren Beazley, said:

“We are extremely proud to announce Austereo Perth as an official Media Partner.  The promotion and marketing of the World Championships is slowly building up and we need the very best to ensure we promote this enormous event right across the nation. The Crew Club will be closely aligned with 92.9FM who will stage functions and parties designed to include and engage a younger demographic.”
