Many of the who’s who of the yacht racing and sailing industry have been in Estoril this week for the World Yacht Racing forum. The topics ranged from the America’s Cup to the environmental credentials of yacht racing.
The Extreme Sailing Series kicked it off on Monday night with an announcement of a new 9 event global tour and two days of speeches, debate and networking followed.
Today, some are travelling back to their offices, getting ready for Christmas and others are playing golf in Portugal. We’ve got pages and pages of notes and insights from the World Yacht Racing Forum and we will be writing them up over the coming days. We also have some very interesting video interviews with some of the sport’s leaders.
On the last day of the forum, we asked the same 8 questions to Mark Turner of the Extreme Sailing Series, Jim O’toole of the World Match Racing Tour, Knut Frostad from the Volvo Ocean Race and Richard Worth from the America’s Cup Event Authority. We’re sure that our readers will be interested in the answers.
