Zhik builds strong links with Moth Class
Australian sailing apparel brand Zhik will follow up on its title sponsorship of the Moth Worlds with another high profile sponsorship of a moth event – the UK International Moth National and Open Championships.
The company is aggressively pursing brand awareness outside of its core Olympic class markets and signalled its intentions to be a player for bigger boats with its sponsorship of the SB3 Worlds.
As well as sponsorship of the Moth Worlds in January in Australia, Zhik has a new link to the UK Moth class through Simon Payne. Simon recently became the UK distributor for Zhik.
Brian Conolly, CEO of Zhik commented that:
“Zhik is one of the fastest growing sailing brands in the world, and with new products in the pipeline the time has come to ramp up our presence in the UK. Therefore it came as an obvious decision for us to once again support the Moth Class, by sponsoring the UK National Championships”.
Mike Lennon, UK Moth Class President said:
“with the anticipation of an attendance of over 50 sailors from within the UK and Europe, the Nationals will be our biggest, best and most high profile event of the year, so we are really pleased to have secured the support of Zhik. In racing these high performance boats, our sailors look for sailing gear that is lightweight, has great flexibility, and is durable, so the benefits of the innovative technologies in Zhik’s sailing gear offers a perfect synergy in partnering with them.”
